In addition to his work in audio, Justin creates generative animation and projections for music and dance. His work is interactive and often utilizes live sound and video sources to dynamically modify each piece, resulting in a unique experience at every show. He is a principal collaborator of brigid baker’s wholeproject whose work appears below.

Justin’s animation has been presented at the New World Center, New World School of the Arts, the Miami-Dade Auditorium and has been described as “signature(ly) lavish” by Artburst Miami and “gorgeous” by Miami New Times.

All The Way (2020)

The hardest realism there is, is that of hope. Every story is, at bottom, a love story. All The Way, through movement and projection, commands the performers and audience to do just that, go all the way. A whirlwind of diverse musical selections matched with equally diverse visual treatments leaves everything on the floor.

Remain In Light (2019)

Remain In Light sets original choreography to the seminal Talking Heads album from 1980. The pieces thematic content focussed on the underwater natural world and its inhabitants. Supporting projections explored different bodies of water that were further manipulated through spectral and temporal processing.

Wonderlawn (2015)

Wonderlawn is a physical expression of the AIDS crisis and its impact on the artistic community of New York. The visual treatment is an algorithmic animation generated by the underlying musical piece, Wonderlawn, by composer Gavin Bryars. The lines represent ever-spreading cracks and fissures that form in society and the invisible medium that surrounds them.
